Kansas City International Airport New Terminal

A milestone project for our aviation team, this project set multiple records, including becoming the second LEED Gold and the largest LEED Gold airport in the U.S. This new single terminal consists of a two-story headhouse for major functions like check-in and baggage claim, with two gate concourses connected by a two-level connector with baggage handling functions at the ground level. In addition to the new two-level terminal curbs for drop-off and pick-up, the project includes a new parking garage with 6,300 spaces and two curbs for commercial vehicles. For Kansas City, the airport is the single largest infrastructure project in the city’s history, replacing Kansas City International’s three-terminal concept, originally built in 1972.

PGA Corporate Office

Adorned in a top-of-the-line equipment and systems, our Florida team built the exterior to withstand even the most severe Category 5 hurricane wind loads. This project encompassed the creation of new entrance roads, thoughtful landscaping, installation of electrical and IT duct banks, and off-site roadway improvements. The comprehensive support system includes storm and utilities management, along with meticulous storm-water management initiatives. To facilitate the building’s functionality, a private lift station was installed, along with a 20,000-gallon domestic storage tank and two 20,000-gallon diesel storage tanks, ensuring ample backup power from the generator.

ADM Project Unity

Weitz Professional Services (WPS) provided essential design services for equipment maintenance access platforms, bridges and bents and equipment support structural engineering. A major success for the project was the WPS team overseeing and facilitating the coordination and cooperation between the ADM equipment suppliers by providing proven solutions to the process design functionality.

Cargill Modular Research Feed Mill

Cargill’s nutrition center required precise feed manufacturing for various analytical observations and animal health research purposes. Weitz’s Industrial team designed the facility for compliance with the US Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) with special attention to miniature batching accuracy, sanitation, and operator/visitor safety. The modular facility also prioritized routing flexibility, modulus of grind specification, mixing coefficient of variation (CV), and precise pelleting processes.

Des Moines Animal Services Facility

The Des Moines Animal Services Facility prioritizes the adoption experience, with nearly half of its space dedicated to providing the public with opportunities to interact with the animals. The facility boasts a remarkable 80 dog kennels, which can be expanded to accommodate up to 155 if necessary. In addition, it features 36 cat condos and 4 cat colony rooms.

Ralston Meadows Elementary School Renovation

Our Nebraska K-12 construction experts delivered this project including a brand-new electrical gear, HVAC units, fire sprinkler system, intercom system, security system, audio visual system, access control system, four new restrooms, ceilings, flooring, and all new finishes throughout the school. The exterior work consisted of a new drive, patching of the existing parking lot, new sidewalks, new retention pond, new water main and light poles.

Kindred

The Kindred project is a 14-story luxury high-rise apartment building located in the heart of the historic Golden Triangle neighborhood of Denver, covering approximately one-quarter of a city block. At completion, this 224-unit apartment building amounted to a gross square footage of 297,318 SF. Our Rocky Mountain team delivered this project while working in a tight downtown space, ultimately leaving Weitz’s mark on the ever-growing Denver skyline.
