The Weitz Company Awarded a 2022 Economic Impact Award by Greater Des Moines Partnership

The Greater Des Moines Partnership recently awarded The Weitz Company a 2022 Economic Impact Award for their significant contributions to the economic vitality of the Greater Des Moines (DSM) in terms of capital investment, job creation, and facility expansion.

Des Moines, Iowa – On September 7th, 2022, The Greater Des Moines Partnership announced six companies as the winners of the 2022 Economic Impact Award. The award originated to recognize and honor companies such as The Weitz Company for their significant contributions to the Greater Des Moines area economy. Combined, the winners added 600 new jobs, built more than $1.3 million square feet of facility space, and contributed $1.19 billion in capital investment into Des Moines, Iowa.

The Weitz Company – Current DSM Projects

The Weitz Company recently remodeled the core and shell of their new headquarters at 611 5th Ave in Downtown Des Moines. The historic move brought the full staff of the company together in a central location and allows for future growth in the community. Alongside the headquarters project, Weitz is currently constructing numerous projects across the region, including the Grimes Public Library, Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, the new Animal Control Facility for the City of Des Moines, and renovations to Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino.
