Des Moines Animal Services Facility

Located on the opposite bank of the river from its previous home, this project entailed the construction of a new facility for the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, significantly expanding its operational capacity by approximately 22,000 square feet. This new building prioritizes the adoption experience, with nearly half of its space dedicated to providing the public with opportunities to interact with the animals. The facility boasts a remarkable 80 dog kennels, which can be expanded to accommodate up to 155 if necessary. In addition, it features 36 cat condos and 4 cat colony rooms. Complementing these facilities is a state-of-the-art surgery center staffed by a full-time veterinarian, underscoring the project’s commitment to providing comprehensive care for the animals in its care.
