The renovation and demolition of an existing 128,000-square-foot, two-story Dillard’s department store at the Boynton Beach Mall facilitated the change in occupancy to use the more stringent “assembly” classification. This change required extensive structural modifications to the floor and column system, significant densification of the fire sprinkler system, electrical upgrades, complete fire alarm replacement, mechanical system distribution replacement and capacity addition, as well as a full interior build-out.

To obtain the desired height in the sanctuary, the second-floor structure was removed and the roof was raised.

The project includes a 10,000-square-foot worship center that seats 750 with provisions for future expansion to 1,200 seats. Also included are a nursery; children’s ministry; youth ministry; adult classrooms; and cafe.
