Mick started as a construction manager when he joined The Weitz Company in May 2013 and now serves as project executive over all our plant services projects. A graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in industrial engineering, Mick got his start in construction by being accepted into an apprentice program for Iron Workers Local 577 in Burlington, Iowa. Following the apprenticeship, he worked for various contractors in the Midwest before joining an industrial contractor in southeast Iowa. Mick became a partner in that company with the role of vice president of estimating and safety director prior his departure.

Something unique or interesting about me is …
As hard as it is to believe, it has been 43 years since I stepped foot on my first construction project – a slipform grain silo along the Mississippi River in Keithsburg, Ill. I worked every day on the project right up to the day I left for Iowa State.
