Preconstruction
Every project starts with an idea. And that’s when we start, too. Our preconstruction expertise provides reassuring predictability for you and your project. Before preconstruction begins, we seek to understand your business goals. Then, we work through the concept design stage together to define the project’s purpose, scope, features and functionality.
With Weitz’s guidance, your vision is refined through a collaborative programming exercise where processes, efficiencies, access, appropriate size, overall appearance, general layout and the preliminary budget are explored.
MEP Solutions
We have a dedicated Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) team that offers design assistance and value analysis consistent with your local market. Our in-house experts have previously worked for subcontractors and are knowledgeable on system comparisons and offer cost saving design enhancements.
Since MEP trades represent 25 percent of most project costs, it is imperative to be accurate at the early budget stage.
Supply Chain
From planning and design stages to on-site installation and delivery, our supply chain division provides maximum efficiency and cost savings. Its unique design-assist approach allows us to understand your project vision early. That way, we can collaborate with your team to develop the right solutions and deliver the right materials to meet your goals.
Our complete supply chain solution provides certainty of cost, quality and schedule by delivering negotiated national pricing, pre-qualified suppliers and coordinated, responsive scheduling with construction.
Lean Construction
Before the first shovel of dirt is turned, we look for new ways to eliminate waste and maximize value for you. Our collaborative project approach is built upon a foundation of Lean principles, which leads Weitz teams to work proactively with you to deliver your project in the safest manner, at less cost and on or ahead of schedule.
We use Last Planner® to maintain our commitment to Lean construction methods. This tool reduces waste by focusing on efficient “hand offs” between trades via increased communication.
Sustainability
At Weitz, we understand that green building practices can substantially reduce operating costs, enhance building marketability, increase worker productivity and reduce negative impacts on the environment. We are committed to the promotion of sustainable design and construction practices on all our projects – even if they are not attempting LEED certification.
We are a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and have more than 130 LEED accredited professionals ready to bring their expertise to your project.
Post-Construction
From groundbreaking to ribbon-cutting, our commitment to client satisfaction doesn’t end when we hand you the keys to the building. We see project completion as just the beginning of an on-going, long-term relationship, and we aim to facilitate a smooth transition from project completion to building occupancy.
Since more than 75 percent of our business is from repeat or referral clients, our reputation depends on your complete satisfaction.
